Creating a winning men's hair image takes more than just a fantastic hair cut - colour, styling, photography and even make-up all play a part.
Here, we speak to those who contributed to Jody Taylor's award-winning men's collection which won Men's Hairdresser of the Year at the 2010 British Hairdressing Awards.
Hair Stylist
"This shot is one of my favourites. I wanted to use innovative cutting techniques and shapes and then work with styling, photography and make-up to create an image that was fashionable and relevant. The collection features a juxtaposition of stylised and foward-thinking contemporary hair, with a raw and moody setting inspired by the dark and reckless character of Johnny Quid in the film RocknRolla."

Make-up Artist
"Creating make-up for a men's shoot is certainly more about subtlety and clever techniques. What is always essential is great direction, which Jody supplied. The brief was to make every shot immaculate, with a slight definition in the eyes - a strong, contemporary male vision."
John Christopher
Photographer
"Jody had a winning concept from the beginning which combined fashion, masculinity and hair. A photographer must understand the concept of a shoot and I worked closely with Jody on the preparation and at the shoot to ensure that our focus remained consistent, from lighting, to models and styling."
David Mannah
Styling
"The hair looks are really strong and directional but the styling for the shoot has a classic, masculine-cool simplicity. Together, the overall look feels really modern."
Sabrina Henry
Journalist
"What makes this style so striking is the silhouette of the quiff and strength of the colour. The complete contrast in texture between the shaved sides and longer length creates a rough 'n' ready, on-trend feel that's perfect for gents moving into the new season."
