Herbert of liverpool raises £15k for charity Herbert HoweCelebrity hairdresser Herbert Howe, founder of the Herbert of Liverpool salon, has raised more than £15,000 at his annual Queenie’s Christmas dinner charity night. The money will now go towards holdinga series of lunches, parties and hospital visits lined up between now and Christmas Day. Three hundred guests, including the medical team which saved Herbert’s life when he was diagnosed with a brain tumour earlier this year, enjoyed a line-up of entertainment at the Adelphi, with Crissy Rock, Danny McCall and The Stylistics hosted by Pete Price. “It’s quite overwhelming to see how successful Queenie’s Christmas has become,” says Herbert, who created the charity in memory of his mother. “Last December we helped 3,480 children and the elderly, supporting charities including Zoe’s Place children’s hospice and Barnardo's Young Carers.” This year, the Queenie’s Christmas events begin on December 5 when 500 youngsters will be taken on a day out to Knowsley Safari Park, followed by a Christmas party at the Devonshire Hotel on December 13 for Zoe’s Place. On December 15 and 16, 350 victims of crime and those living in sheltered accommodation will be treated to a Christmas lunch, then two days later the charity will take 400 children and carers to see the Cinderella panto at the Epstein Theatre.
