Robert-Smith-Cycle-Slam.jpgHaringtons director, Robert Smith, has joined sport stars Lawrence Dallaglio and Andrew Flintoff on the Dallaglio Flintoff 2012 Cycle Slam.

Robert cycled 500km of mountainous terrain, from the Swiss Alps to Reims in France, as part of Flintoff and Dallaglio's cycle slam that mirrored the Olympic torch's journey from the home of the Olympic Games, Olympia, Greece to London, England.

The fourth stage, which Robert successfully manouevred, saw the cyclists endure some challenging conditions. He said: "It was a tough challenge riding through the Alps with its different weather patterns - beautifully sunny and 37 degrees riding up 15 kilometre inclines - then riding down the other side with it lashing with cold rain!

The rain made it quite dangerous, but the camaraderie and teamwork got us through it!"

The ride raised funds for Dallaglio and Flintoff's favoured charitable foundations Cancer Research UK and Great Ormond Street Hospital. If you would like to sponsor Robert, visit:  http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Robert.Smith
