As football fever continues to sweep the nation during the 2026 World Cup, charity Haircuts4Homeless is giving free haircuts at community football tournaments
Haircuts4Homeless supported Beyond The Pitch this summer – a free seven-a-side tournament organised by Manchester FA to unite people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.
More than 120 people gathered at Stockport Sports Village for the event, demonstrating football’s ability to unite communities and create opportunities for those who are often excluded from them.
Founder Stewart Roberts MBE travelled to Manchester alongside volunteers from local Haircuts4Homeless projects, joining Northern Projects Lead Jacki Hall and a team of volunteer hairdressers and barbers.
Together, they delivered 22 free haircuts during the event, creating a space for conversation, connection and support away from the action on the pitch.
“Our volunteer hairdressers and barbers were proud to provide free haircuts, helping participants feel refreshed, confident and ready to take on the day,” said Roberts.
“A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers who generously gave their time and skills to support others.
“Together, we're providing the small acts of kindness that can make a big difference."
Haircuts4Homeless offers free haircuts to homeless people across the UK, helping to restore dignity, confidence and a sense of belonging.
Since launching in 2014, the charity has grown into a nationwide network of volunteer hairdressers and barbers who have delivered tens of thousands of haircuts to those in need.
