When it comes to hair colour, red is the new blonde. Made popular last year by stars such as Pamola Faith and Florence Welch, it is set to continue being the colour of choice. Ombré colour will get stronger while Hollywood glamour will be the look of the season for blondes.

"Two tone will be a huge trend, whether it is black on blonde or brunette on rouge, in blocks of colour or applied in gradients.
Moving the dip-dye look forward, we are now double-dipping the ends to create a much stronger effect.
Instead of soft highlights, colour will be hand-painted streaks to show more definition.
Overall, colour is being applied in a more organic, visual way, rather than set section patterns."

"Following last season's catwalk success, red's popularity rapidly increased with celebrities such as Rihanna and Cheryl Cole all championing the hue.
Deep plums and burgundy red will still prevail this season, but we'll also see more of a sun-drenched palette of copper, coral red and tangerine."
Karen Dodds, Cutting Room Creative, Leeds

"For Spring/Summer we will be working with a layered effect with colour ranging from a seamless beautiful palette through to a stronger statement look.
Creating a poetic glam feel, we will take inspiration from the 70s as the blonde palette expresses hues such as antique gold, rose gold, liquid metallic and orchid white, as seen on the Alberta Ferretti catwalk.
To achieve this on-trend blonde, we are working with a creative layering technique to create perfect texture throughout these blonde hues."

"Alexa Chung and Jessie J are leading the way for brunette clients, keeping their look glossy but adding elements of matte lightness.
Infuse your bitter chocolate clients with a muted gold for a fashion-inspired look that will set you aside from the rest."
Stuart Bane, D&J Ambrose, London

"Think January Jones: blossoming, buttercup-blonde hair.
Mad Men's mesmerising beauty Betty Draper is setting the trends that inspired Louis Vuitton's complete collection this season.
We achieve this glamorous look by using an application of base-lifting tint that has been developed for the client's natural hair colour.
Once colour has been applied, hair is washed, dried and scattered with a fine weave of tones using our free-hand foil technique."
Brooke Bohan, Four, London

"The biggest colour trend is definitely the rose shades - peachy and apricot - and although they are usually soft and subtle they can also be strong and bold.
We are working with a new technique called 3D colouring, which is a combination of application techniques in different areas of the hair to create a multi-dimensional, multi-tonal finish."
Carly Roberts, Marc Antoni, Fleet

"Blondes are more playful than ever as they flirt with differing hues spliced through the underneath layers that are not only fun, but serve to enrich ashen tones to a warmer honey palette.
Alternatively, pale Parma-violet-like tones laced through underlying layers give a sparkling icy clean blonde finish that strikes attitude and health into every head of hair. Colour trends this season must tick these boxes: sexy, sophisticated and daring.
Flightly-Lites is the new service we are predicting for the coming season. Ultra-fine flashes of sweet candy-inspired hues carefully placed through the under layers to enliven your colour."
