Fellowship for british hairdressing's sorceror and apprentice show
The Fellowship for British Hairdressing held its first Masterclass of 2009, with a host of top name hairdressers presenting the latest looks at the Cumberland Hotel in London.
Comperes Mark Creed, Fellowship vice president and chancellor and Fellowship president Steven Goldsworthy introduced hairdressers including:
Tim Hartley, Beverly C, Tony Rizzo from Sanrizz, Gary France from Toni & Guy, Sean, Dawson from hob salons, Mark Woolley from Electric, Terry Calvert from Clipso, Mark Hayes from Sassoon Academy, Mark Leeson from Mark Leeson Hair, Body & Mind, Marc Giammeti from Marc Antoni, Reading, Desmond Murray, London and Nick Malenko from Royston Blythe, who demonstrated the latest techniques for the coming season.
An audience of more than 200 guests saw the inspiring hairdressers and their proteges present two models on six podiums, ranging from creative and avant garde to colourful and commercial.
Extensions were used for added volume and thickness, while curls, waves and texture were in abundance on short and mid-length styles. Straight asymmetric bobs were also on show, and reds, brunettes and blondes were glossy and healthy looking.
Chris Appleton, George's, Leicester and FAME team 2009 said, "What an amazing start to the Fellowship calendar. They literally had the crème de la crème of British hairdressing there and it made my hair literally stand on end. To get that close and personal to these great hairdressing icons was fabulous - a great sense of camaraderie."
Rachel De Freitas, senior consultant from Headquarters and ex-Project X member, said, "Everyone from our salon came up and the evening was fantastic not only did we see such inspirational work but we also were given the opportunity to ask these amazing icons one to one questions and advice, it was an incredible night."
