Fellowship for british hairdressing hosts action-packed members night

The Fellowship for British Hairdressing showcased the skills of some of its members at its annual Members' Night, with a guest appearance from Jamie Stevens adding to the evening's packed agenda.
Following a welcome from president, Mark Creed, it was straight on with with the show with some of the Fellowship's most exciting salons presenting bite-size snapshots of inspiration.
En Route Hair and Beauty, Wakefield presented an on-trend duo of models, showcasing dual texture with plaits, micro-crimping and wet looks. Metallic colour completed the look.
Ciente, Berkhamsted presented their Androgyny collection with a male and female model showcasing looks inspired by Paul Smith's Spring/Summer 2013 collection.
The Mahogany Artistic Team presented their Rock Sensual collection, inspired by glam rock and David Bowie. Sharp precision cutting was enhanced with graduated colour in shades of peach, lilac and copper
Next up was an interview with Jamie Stevens, hosted by HJ editor Ruth Hunsley. Jamie paid tribute to his invaluable time in the FAME Team, his family's hairdressing influence and why he chose hairdressing after initially starting out as a footballer. He also talked about his time on The X Factor and other television shows, concluding: "Success is down to hard work, not luck."

The second half of the evening's creative shows started with Hensmans, Northamption who showcased collections inspired by Brit design greats Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood. Contrasting texture were key, with colour brought to life through glitter for a structured look.
John Belfield International of Newcastle and Stoke-on-Trent demonstrated their 105-year heritage with the Masquerade collection. Strong colours, rolls, waves, texture and powder paint colour brought this collection to life.
The P.Kai Hair Artistic Team showcased their Depression Chic collection, with undercuts and green and blue palettes, inspired by vintage images of racegoers.
The Hair Advice Centre in Englefield Green was inspired by haunting films including The Woman in Black and Great Expectations for a Miss Haversham-inspired collection, with hair sheet extensions wrapped around models' hair.
The RUSH Hair Junior Artistic Team presented their Ghetto Punk collection with styles inspired by students at London College of Fashion. Playful texture and vibrant colour worked together for an eclectic collection.
The Sanrizz Innovation Team showcased their Fusion collection, bringing together shape, colour and texture.
Finally, the TONI&GUY Junior Artistic Team showcased six models - with men inspired by 50s icons including James Dean and Kirk Douglas and women's looks including Hitchcock inspired volume and 20s style waves.
