Fellowship Creative XChange Visits Winchester For First Time

The Fellowship for British Hairdressing brought its Creative XChange event to Winchester, uniting local hairdressers for an inspiring evening of cutting, colour, and styling education

A year after launching its Creative XChange events, the Fellowship for British Hairdressing held its first instalment in Winchester. Hosted at Studio U, the salon owned by F.A.M.E. Team Alumni Harry Andreou, the evening focused on creativity, collaboration, and community.

Harry opened the event by welcoming attendees and thanking sponsors GLOWWA, Zen Luxury Hair Extensions, and Enki Towels for providing the evening's goody bags. He then introduced the line-up of local guest artists. Throughout the evening, the live demonstrations showcased how current top trends can translate into both modern salon styles and editorial work. Attendees were encouraged to ask questions and dive deeper into the specific techniques being used by the stylists.

The event featured targeted presentations from several industry artists:

  • Karis Woodward (Project Colour Support 2026) demonstrated creative colour techniques, specifically showing how to achieve a high-shine chrome finish.
  • Callum Bates-Siney (Ringwood-based stylist and Project Sassoon Achiever of the Year 2024) focused on precision cutting and strong silhouettes.
  • Billy Ryan (from London’s Tribe and Project Men & Media Support 2026) presented a polished yet relaxed mod cut, reflecting current men's grooming trends.
  • Kieran Martin (Project Media & Media 2024 and Fellowship Events Team Member) explored the relationship between creative cutting and colour placement.
  • Kathryn Dartnell (from Jack & the Wolfe in Lymington) attended as a special guest, showcasing techniques for maintaining volume and lift during a bouncy blowdry.

The Fellowship implemented the Creative XChange events to build local creative communities and encourage industry professionals to join the Fellowship and apply for its Bespoke Education Projects. The sessions cover traditional and contemporary hairdressing and barbering techniques across all hair types and textures. These gatherings provide a platform for creatives to collaborate, present new ideas, and build stronger educational learning hubs.
