Fashionistas party in style at chanel

A truly A-list lineup of attendees showed up at the swanky new shop, to party the night away with Chanel's main man, Karl Lagerfeld.

In the super-cool corner, TV host Alexa Chung, model Chanel Iman, and DJ and Chanel muse, Leigh Lezark all rocked textured tresses. I love Alexa's scrufy-chic updo, while the loose waves through Leigh's lengths make an interesting change from her trademark poker straight bob.

Beachy blonde was another trend, with Gossip Girl Blake Lively and model Angela Lindvall showing off dirty roots and shimmering lights through their lengths. Painfully hip model/designer Erin Wasson also showed off a marvellous example of balayage with crinkly waves showing off the colour change to its best.

Glossy, rich brunettes are always a winner for the winter season, and this year the trend is predicted to be more popular than ever. At the Chanel party, Liv Tyler and Daisy Lowe stuck to their rock chick credentials with artfully tousled looks in shades of chocolate and espresso. 'Plus sized' model Crystal Renn [who isn't looking at her best in that picture] also opted for a full head of shimmering brunette, styled sleek and smooth.

Playful updos were another trend amongst the fashionistas in attendance, with Brit model Lily Donaldson showing off a charming dolly bun, high on the head. German actress - and Karl Lagerfeld's BFF - Diane Kruger sported her usual elegant, romatic, updo, framed with loose tendrils and a gem-encrusted headband. Leighton Meester showed another example of how to wear a bun, with a low, ballerina style at the nape.
