Fame team master avant-garde with robert masciave masterclass

The FAME Team recently enjoyed an avant-garde masterclass with one of the pioneers of the craft; Robert Masciave of Metropolis Hairdressing. The day began with an introduction from Robert and videos to illustrate what goes into creating quality avant-garde work. He followed up with a demonstration on how to build the perfect base and design creative hairpieces using unconventional materials like pipe cleaners and chicken wire - and more importantly, how to attach the creations to hair. Robert then let the group loose so they could create their own avant-garde creations; four very different, very creative examples of hair art. FAME Team member Simon Tuckwell says: "I have always been a bit intimidated by avant-garde work but today broke down those barriers for me. I learnt valuable lessons which have given me a huge confidence boost in terms of creative styling. Robert had me reaching for materials I wouldn't necessarily gravitate towards. For me, the day was exactly what the team is all about - pushing us out of our comfort zones, allowing us to explore elements of hairdressing that excite and create emotions."
