Happy Birthday Diane Kruger! The German actress/fashion guru is one of our favourite red-carpet stars and always makes headlines with her savvy style choices and brilliant beauty looks. And with styles ranging from
pin-up pretty to
clever use of accessories, she never lets us down with her hair either.
One of Diane's fail-safe looks - and one of our favourites - is the braid, but she consistently reinvents the style to ensure it's constantly kept interesting. Here are five of our faves!

Spritz damp hair with a salt srpay and scrunch dry to create loose waves. Pull hair over to one side and part in three. Braid hair loosely, securing at the end and wrapping the band with a strand of hair. Pull out random strands and use more texture spray to enhance flyaways.[/caption]

Prep hair with a smoothing cream and blow-dry with a round brush to create a smooth finish with volume at the roots. Style in a slightly off-centre parting and divide hair in two, then plait in a fishtail technique about half way. Tie off and wrap the elastic wih hair to cover.[/caption]

Prep hair with mousse, style in a centre parting, and blow-dry with a roumnd brush. Once dry, create braids of varying shapes and sizes throughout the back section. Loop and weave together the plaits, pinning in place. Keep a couple of plaits separate to drape over the head in a band.[/caption]

Prep hair a combination of mousse and serum and blow-dry smoothly, keeping hair close to the head. Style in a centre parting and divide hair into two sections. Braid each section to the ends and secure. Knot each braid around on itself to create two low buns.[/caption]

Prep hair with texture spray and scrunch dry to encourage natural movement from root to tip. Once dry, work with centimetre-wide sections and weave into a rough braid, criss-crossing and pinning at random with statement black pins. Work all the way through to the ends and tie off.[/caption]
