ClubStar Art Team Leader Leah Walton opened the evening, showcasing burnt metal colours in copper tones and beige bases and demonstrating technical placements on her two models. Leah also provided an insight into howto scout models, sharing before pictures of her models to showcase the transformations she'd created. Next up was Lucie King from Daniel Grainger who played a showreel of the collection she'd created for HJ's British Hairdressing Awards, while presenting Joico’s pink and orange tones. Lucie also spoke to the audience about how much the Fellowship and Colour Project has helped her career. Daniel Couch from Russell Eaton was next to take to the stage with a Banksy-style presentation of his amazing colour work. With grey as his base colour, Daniel's first model sported a chic bob to which he applied deep pink tones on stage. While that developed, he created geometric patterns on his second model's long grey hair using colour sprays and card for an exciting and innovative presentation. The finale of the evening saw ClubStar South leader and creative director for Ethos Hairdressing Adam Bryant, along with Rosie Binns and Brent Barlow, presenting three models and talking through their looks from their award-winning Pulse collection. Revealing that the inspiration came from soundwaves, they demonstrated the colour that was created to shadow the cuts before showcasing two looks from the collection: the first was inspired by a sonar beam - a pale pink, smooth, one-length style with a grey ash detail through the front, while the other played on light and shade, creating an effect of shadow at the roots and with a bevelled fringe to maximise the light. The third look was inspired by Dutch Medieval paintings, demonstrating a hairline glow on a short textured cut, toned with a subtle apricot shade. After the show, members of the audience were able to attend a workshop with the mentors to recreate the colour looks from the collections shown on stage, and were also provided with quick and easy techniques for inspiration and tips on up-selling in the salon. ClubStar is the youth membership programme of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing that recognises young talent and offers opportunities for its members to become strong creatives. It is exclusively for hair professionals aged 16 to25 and supports the pursuit of improved standards and NVQ/SVQ education. It is however, not a mandatory joining requirement. It gives members the opportunity to meet, share ideas and develop creativity, while engaging with events, competitions and educational workshops.
