Creating a moodboard online is a great starting point for any hairdresser working on a photoshoot, providing you and the rest of your team with both a source of inspiration and a handy reference guide.
Working online means that you can constantly update and incorporate up-to-the-minute imagery from websites across the world. Online moodboards also allow for easy collaboration with your team.
Pinterest
What is it? Pinterest allows you to share images with your friends and search for inspirational imagery from other users.
Users have boards and can then pin on images of anything they like - from anywhere on the web. You can also repin pictures that have been posted by other users, which means they will appear on your boards.
How do I use it? Sign up for membership. You can also log in with your Facebook or Twitter account which will help you find people you already know.
Create a board, then start adding pictures. That's it! You can also add the 'pin' button to your browser which means that whenever you visit a site, you can just click to add an image to your board.
You can also search for images that have been added by other users. Type the words you want to look for in the search bar, then simply repin anything that takes your fancy.
To make the board collaborative, click 'edit board' and choose the option for 'me + contributors'.
There's no limit to the number of boards you can have, and you can pin as many images as you like to each. You can even make boards private if it's something you don't want on display publicly.
Pros: Hugely popular and very easy to use. Images can be divided into many different categories within one account. The tablet and phone versions are also really easy to use.
Cons: You have to be a member to upload pictures. There is also only one basic layout.
