Cfda awards 2011: champagne blondes sparkle on the red carpet

Blonde is always a red carpet hit - even amongst fashion icons who lead, rather than follow, the trends.
And at last night's CFDA Awards, it was shades of light, bright champagne blonde which our fashion favourites opted for.
Designer twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen both opted for summery, lighter shades of blonde than their usual honey-hued tresses, proving that no matter how much time they spend in New York, they're still California girls at heart with bleach blonde locks to prove it.
Ashley, in blue, kept her hair down with loads of texture through the lengths and a must-have matte finish, while Mary-Kate wore her lengths piled up in a half-up, half-down 'do.
Aussie actress Naomi Watts also opted for a lighter shade of blonde than usual, with a creamy blonde offsetting her shimmery gold dress perfectly.
Loosely styled with an effortlessly sexy sweeping fringe, Naomi combines smooth, straight lengths with just a hint of texture for a natural feel.
