Lady Gaga was almost unrecognisable at last night's CFDA Awards, the annual celebration of achievement in the world of fashion hosted by the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

The pop star - who won the coveted (and rarely-awarded) Fashion Icon award - wore a bright blue bob wig, complete with short, curving fringe for a cartoonish feel.

But while we're used to seeing Gaga in colourful wigs, her make-up at this event - no eyeliner, black eyebrows and pale skin - makes her somehow look completely different.

Also rocking a shorter style than usual, American designer Erin Fetherston showed off a sleek bob at the CFDA Awards.

We're used to seeing Erin's baby blonde hair styled in girly Heidi-style plaits to match the romantic feel of her designs, so this sharper cut is a bit of a change. Paired with a blunt fringe, this style feels youthful and fun - although I wish she'd filled her eyebrows in slightly!
