July 2012 was all about the Olympics as the country got behind the biggest sporting event of recent years and celebrated athletic triumph.With the country on a high from the Queen's Jubilee, celebrating sporting prowess became a national pastime as home-grown stars like Jessica Ennis and Mo Farrah romped home to victory in the Games.
And lest anyone think that the Olympics had quashed interest in more mainstream entertainment, July also saw the return of the The X Factor - with one judge in particular causing headlines with her choice of hair...

The unofficial poster girl of the 2012 Olympic Games, Sheffield's very own Jessica Ennis was easily the most popular face of the summer's sporting endeavours.
While dressing up may not be a necessity when competing for your country, Jess still looked the part with her no-nonsense sleeked-back styles.
And in a games which saw contestants opt for bows, braids and bands it was nice to see our own champion keep things simple and stylish.
