Amanda Marsden Lifestyle Salon and Spa

Amanda Marsden Lifestyle Salon and Spa has opened in the heart of Exeter; Amanda's second salon in the area. Housed in a spectacular Grade II-listed Georgian building, the space is blessed with 20-foot-high ceilings and swathed in plenty of natural light. The space was originally the city's County Chambers, but now the salon occupies the entire ground floor - taking up about half of the available 3,100 square feet of space and ensuring there's plenty of room of expansion; something Amanda has already planned with a spa set for the basement and an academy destined for the first floor. With such a spectacular space to begin with, Amanda was keen to keep as much of the building's original character as possible. She explains: "I stressed to my designers, Reis Design, the importance of telling the building’s story so everyone could enjoy it as it would have been originally, while creating a really practical design from a working point of view." Cue a "restful" palette of chalk white, soft grey and bisque, complemented with Aveda staples such as natural wood and slate flooring. Adding to the zen feel of Amanda Marsden Lifestyle Salon and Spa is a 'relax room' furnished with a Chesterfield sofa and dining table, as well as doors leading into a private courtyard with six seating pods for guests to relax while their colour develops.
