The 3.1 Phillip Lim Autumn/Winter 2014 show saw Paul Hanlon reference 80s New Wave bands.
The show: 3.1 Phillip Lim Autumn/Winter 2014
The hair team: Paul Hanlon for Moroccanoil
The look: Sinuous masculine-looking waves
The inspiration: 80s New Wave bands and vintage fashion spreads
The key product: Moroccanoil Treatment Light
"We particularly referenced the sexy fashion spreads of photographers like
Bruce Weber and
Herb Ritts," said Paul. "And hair styles like those of
Talisa Soto."
"More than generous amounts of Moroccanoil Light were applied mid-head and on the ends to create a sexier, deconstructed edge to the texture," he continues. "I used lots and lots of Moroccanoil for this. Though there is a confident sexiness to the hair, we didn’t want it to feel too womanly, but more like the Phillip Lim girl, with a slight street appeal."
Get the look
Apply Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse throughout the hair and brush through to the ends.
Spray Moroccanoil Root Boost on the roots at the front and top of the hair and dry with a flat brush, directing hair up and away from the face.
The key product is Moroccanoil Treatment Light, which gives the defined, separated texture essential to the success of the look. Carefully and very generously apply it section-by-section from back to front.
Apply Moroccanoil Intense Curl Cream to the top sections of the head only, combing through to create strong, defined waves.
Spray waves with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong to keep the shape and dry with a diffuser. Finish with Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray all over for a wet-look shine.
