From the
manbun to the lob, 2014 has been a year of hair highs and lows - here we take a look back at 21 of the most memorable hair moments of 2014.

Karlie Kloss has gone from catwalk queen to client favourite thanks to the Karlie -
that wavy bob that's been copied by everyone from BFF Taylor Swift to Beyonce,

Jared Leto was just one of the male celebrities who brought the man bun to prominence. Love it or loathe it, long hair for guys is definitely back and dressing it isn't far behind. Get set to braid those boys!

Natalie Dormer rocked her
Game of Thrones style both on and off the red carpet. This undercut could perhaps have been faked with hi-tech wizardry, but she gamely opted for a razor job instead - and styled it out amazingly.

Lupita Nyong'o became our red-carpet crush early on in 2014 with her bold outfit choices and fabulous beauty to match. A true afro inspiration, she's also become one of the Gibson Girls - super-stylist Ted Gibson's army of A-listers.

The
Met Gala is always a feast for the eyes. As fashion's Oscars, the red carpet is always one to watch for hair, beauty and style tips for the year ahead. Co-host for the evening, Sarah Jessica Parker, took the evening's couture theme and interpreted it from head to toe, topped off with this bountiful bun.

Who knew
an evil queen could be quite so stylish? Angelina Jolie as Maleficent in the film of the same name inspired countless hairdressing competitions - including the winner of HJ's very own Student Creative of the Year,
Molly Towle.

With all eyes on Brazil for the World Cup this summer, we turned our interests to
the Brazilian beauties who inspire off the pitch. The list was topped by - who else? - supermodel Gisele Bundchen.

Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco teased fans with
an April Fool's faux bob, before taking the plunge for real with a choppy crop. The cut was
even addressed in the show, with Sheldon typically unimpressed by the drastic change.

Lena Dunham divided fans with her pageboy cut, which was enhanced with a dramatic new colour change. Not a fan? The blonde didn't last long - she soon went
slime green, hot on the heels of
Katy Perry.

The Wob - that's wavy bob - was undoubtedly the cut of 2014, and few wore it better than Hollywood favourite, Emma Stone. Her stunning red shade definitely helped make this one of our favourite looks of the year.

If you weren't convinced by blue hair before 2014, Nicole Richie did a great job of convincing us. From this bright aqua shade to
a gun-metal greyish navy, the TV star ran the gauntlet of blue hues over the course of the year.

Beyonce's micro=fringe well and truly divided critics, but we were rather fond of
her homage to Bettie Page.

Taylor Swift switched long, pretty curls for something altogether sharper in 2014. This shoulder-skimming style ticks all the right boxes for length this year, while the straight finish has a fresher feel for the pop princess.

Kristen Stewart always divides style critics, but this year saw her sign on the dotted line with
a Chanel contract before cropping her hair off into this sexy, chic, androgynous crop.

In a year that's been seemingly all about the Kardashians, it's youngest sis Kylie Jenner that's been the most interesting style-wise. Her green hair might have annoyed Kim before
the wedding of the year, but we loved her foray into grungy colour.

Thought the undercut fo girls was over? Think again. New mum Scarlett Johansson proved that going short with a child-friendly cut doesn't have to mean playing it safe - this cut oozes cool-girl sex appeal.

The
Victoria's Secret show hit London in December, bringing big, bouncy... curls to the catwalk.

Ariana Grande's half-up ponytail has fast become her staple hairstyle, making her
almost unrecognisable whenever she dares to go without. She's also been responsible for making this one of the most-copied looks on the high street over 2014 - bonus points if it's styled with a scrunchie.

You'd be forgiven for thinking Justin Bieber had dropped off the hair radar since ditching his teen heart-throb curtains, but he's made a bold move back into the hair headlines for December with a daring new (read: terrible) blonde shade.
Kelly Osbourne has remained one of HJ readers' favourite celebs throughout 2014, thanks to that lilac shade, an edgy cut and a willingness to incorporate saftey pins into her hair as a valid styling option.

We were delighted to see
Gwen Stefani back in the spotlight for 2014. Much as we love her always-immaculate blonde and knack for vintage styling, we were thrilled to see her doing something new with colour towards the latter end of the year. This section of hair has variously been black, red and
striped so far - what next?
