10 Rihanna Hairstyles You Forgot About

Published 07th Jan 2025 by Josie Jackson

When you think of Rihanna, what does her hair look like in your mind? Rihanna is undoubtedly a household name, thanks to her iconic music career and Fenty business empire, however thanks to her ever-evolving style, Rihanna is also known for some bold hair looks over the years. Here, we take a look at 10 of Rihanna’s hairstyles that you might have forgotten about…

Starting Out Sleek in 2006

This girl-next-door look is Rihanna at her most subtle, but she still looks sensational.

Bold Bob in 2007

This asymmetric bob with an exaggerated side sweeping fringe shows off the glossy finish of this colour perfectly.

Short Statement in 2008

Rihanna’s pixie crop from 2008 is super wearable but still retains a RiRi edge thanks to the shattered layers. We love that she opted to style it into a textured quiff on this occasion, tying in perfectly with her bold winged liner.

Blonde Undercut in 2009

The following year, Rihanna grew out her hair into a side-sweeping bob complete with an undercut. To finish off the style, she switched up her colour, marking the first time we’d see Rihanna blonde.

Red-Carpet Red in 2011

This unstoppable red shade was copied by just about everyone in the summer of 2011. We love how Rihanna combined a statement shade with a classic cut to balance out the look.

Back to Blonde in 2012

Rihanna transitioned back to blonde in 2012, opting for a warm, honey-hued blonde with shadow roots. Styled in brushed-out curls, this look is giving ultimate summer energy.

Warm Waves in 2013

We love this caramel-chocolate balayage – it’s a timeless colour that pairs perfectly with vibrant red.

Sleek Bob in 2016

Kicking off her Fenty empire, Rhianna attended the FENTY PUMA by Rihanna AW16 Collection sporting a sleek, black bob. A well-executed bob is always a winning style, and the sleek finish on this look exudes confidence and sophistication.

Braided Babe in 2019

In 2019 Rihanna showcased these Fulani braids – a hairstyle that originates from the Fulani people of West Africa. The hairstyle is characterised by a combination of cornrows along the top of the head, with cornrows looping over the ears and single braids cascading along the sides and back.

Curly Pixie in 2024

Celebrating the launch of Fenty Hair in 2024, Rhianna debuted a brand new curly crop – styled using her very own products.
