Wiggery heads down under to stevie english hair Wiggery Heads Down Under to Stevie English Hair Shaun McGrath, the avant-garde hairdresser otherwise known as Wiggery, is heading to Sydney, Australia to join Stevie English Hair. After six years in London refining his unique take on hairdressing, 2015 sees Shaun and his family return to his hometown of Sydney. He will be joining the team at Stevie English; one of Australia's most colourful salons and one of HJ's ones-to-follow on Instagram this year. Shaun says: "London has provided me with a platform to create a brand of mixed media hairdressing now recognized globally. My aim in coming to London was to challenge myself, and my work as both a hairdresser and an artist has amalgamated into what is now commonly known as #Wiggery. What I didn't expect to achieve was changing the boundaries of where hairdressing starts and ends. "I found such a strong unified and amazing community of hair professionals in the UK. They support and encourage each others' work and endeavours and there is some wonderful hairdressing 'glue' out there, such as #Hairhour on Twitter and the Hair Club Live community. It is also where I was introduced to my Unite family." "It's been six years since I lived in Sydney and can't wait to be back in the surf and sunshine, but my priority was choosing which Australian salon would suit me best. Stevie English hair is not just a very cool and creative cut and colour salon, but the whole ethos and concept is something very special. British ex-pat Steve Corthine set about creating Australia's first salon to off-set carbon emissions. Seven years on, it still strives to be innovative, reducing our industry's impact on the surrounding world as well as making its clients feel and look spectacular. It's such an exciting team of colourists and stylists and I can't wait to be part of it."
