Westrow's danielle hill reveals ss16 afro hair trends The natural texture of Afro hair was all over the Spring/Summer 2016 catwalks. Whether tied up in a chignon, or cropped short, the catwalks loved the look of effortless texture and beautiful curl. Westrow's Danielle Hill talks about her favourite looks for SS16 and how to get them. Louis Vuitton show, Spring Summer 2016, Paris Fashion Week, France - 07 Oct 2015 Photo by Sipa Press Pixelformula/REX/Shutterstock Nowhere was the natural look more dominant than at Louis Vuitton. Some models wore their hair chopped uber short, others wore it long, but all of them sported natural-looking styles. The key to pulling off natural Afro hair is to keep it moisturised so it doesn’t look dull and dry. L’Oréal Mizani Intense h20 Overnight Treatment gives the perfect injection of moisture. If it's a short natural look be sure to tame the edges with a gel based product such as L’Oréal Mizani Edge Taming Gel. If hair is long, add a generous amount of TIGI Ego Boost, twisting it into the hair, to encourage the natural curl. Let it air-dry, shake out with your fingers to loosen it and good to go: perfect for low maintenance girls. Marc Jacobs show, Spring Summer 2016, New York Fashion Week, America - 17 Sep 2015 Photo by Matt Baron/BEI/Shutterstock Natural texture was also the key to creating simple chignons as seen at Marc Jacobs. Last season’s grungy look is still going strong, but has been softened to take it in to Spring/Summer 2016. This is a simple, yet effective, look and so easy to recreate. To texturise the hair and give it a tousled effect, I recommend using a light sprinkle of L’Oréal Professionnel Texture Dust, ensure this spreads evenly through the hair by using hairdryer. Work hair roughly into a side parting and pull it in to a loose and low chignon. Leave some of the ends out, rough up the hairline and ensure the finish isn't too neat. This is a great look on wider face shapes, as the asymmetry makes the face appear longer. Bora Aksu Show, Spring Summer 2016, London Fashion Week, Britain - 18 Sep 2015 Photo by Sipa Press Pixelformula/REX/Shutterstock At Bora Aksu, curls were replaced with a sleek finishes full of natural texture. An easy look to recreate, hair was styled in to a deep side parting and worn in a low pony to the back or side. Pat the ponytail with a serum like L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil, and then flatten with straightening irons. Again, steer clear of making the look too neat: remember it should still be full of natural texture.
