The Wella Professionals Making Waves initiative is set to expand into Romania in 2014.
The programme, which works alongside UNICEF, currently sees hairdressers visit under privileged young people in Brazil, teaching them new skills and mentoring them to a better life.
Since it started in 2010 the programme has helped 12,000 young people. Now it is set to help young people in Romania, where more than 20% of children live in poverty and 80% of young people don't have any qualifications. Hairdressers who take part in the Making Waves programme call on a multitude of skills as well as passing on basic hairdressing skills.
The latest group, which included Philip Bell from Ishoka, Aberdeen, visited Brazil to share heir knowledge and experiences with young people, giving them a chance for a better life.
