Wella professionals launch xposure 2013

Open to students from any college or learning provider, the competition provides a platform for emerging talent and offers its winners some amazing money-can't-buy prizes.

Last year's winner, Jade Goss of PKai Academy in Peterborough got to spend the day working backstage with Gary Gill and the Generation NOW team at the Wella Profesionals Trend Vision final in London. 

She says: "The TrendVision day I did was absolutely amazing! The best thing by far I've done yet in my career. 

"It was incredible to see all the different aspects of backstage. Gary is a true inspiration and so are the Generation NOW team. 

"Winning Xposure has helped my career options open up so much. I have so many routes I can go down and hairdressing competitions and shows are definitely what I will choose. It has definitely made me see that if you put your all into something, you can achieve anything!"

Students must create a commercial cut and colour, which is first judged in their own inter-college photographic competition. 

The top five entries will then be forwarded on to a national photograph heat, with the best 80 students from across the country invited to recreate their look live in one of four regional heats.

Twenty students are then chosen to battle it out in the national final, which takes place at the Wella World Studio in London.

Gold, silver and bronze prizes are awarded with winners scooping a host of exciting treats including a day spent shadowing a top hairdresser, education packages and products.

And this year, three winners will also be chosen in the categories of models, colleges and college lecturers to honour the other elements which add up to a winning entry.
