A group of six up-and-coming hairdressers have been chosen to form the new Generation NOW team for 2014/15. Generation NOW was launched four years ago by Wella Professionals to find the next crop of rising stars hungry to make their mark in the world of hairdressing.
The latest talented six are: Matthew Feeney, Aviary Lane Salon, Dublin; James Earnshaw, Francesco Group, Shropshire; Paul Paterson, Ishi Salon, Edinburgh; Rob Czlapka, RCNQ, Manchester; Emma Wainwright, Soul Hair, Cheshire; Callum Standen, The Egg, Norfolk.
The rigorous audition process saw all entrants firstly submit an example of their work and a written entry demonstrating their knowledge of fashion and beauty trends , before moving on to the audition stage.
During the auditions, entrants were put through their paces in front of a panel of judges from Wella Professionals with guest judges from the industry including Philip Bell from Ishoka, Gareth Vance from Sassoon and Colin McAndrew from Medusa Hairdressing. Candidates had to prepare a model and present them to the judges demonstrating why they would make a great Generation NOW Team member.
Their year commences with an intensive bootcamp week during which the team will be mentored by top hairdressers including Bruno Marc, Marc Antoni, Robert Eaton from Russell Eaton, and Jamilla Paul, Jamilla Paul Hair & Beauty.
