Wahl search for a star winner announced

Joe Savage was named as the winner of the Wahl Search for a Star competition at Salon International, and will now go on present with the brand on stage over the weekend. Joe is from Maxwell's Hair and Beauty in Biggleswade and fought off stiff competition from nine other finalists to be crowned Search for a Star winner for 2014. Launched in 2013, the competition sees hundreds of barbers submit their best work by photographic entry to be in with a chance of winning. Finalists are asked to present head-to-head on stage at Salon International on Saturday, before a winner is announced. On the judging panel this year were Carl Blake from Wahl, Rachel Gould from the Five Point Alliance and Rachael Grieve from Alison Jameson PR. They selected Joe for his solid barbering skills and immaculate finished look - but it was a close shave, with just one point in it. Joe will not only spend the weekend working with Wahl, but will also be mentored by the one and only Simon Shaw, Wahl’s European Artistic Director, for an amazing 12 months. He says: "I am over the moon at winning the competition. It has always been my dream to work with the Wahl Artistic Team and I cannot believe I have won and achieved my dream. I can't wait for the next 12 months!"
