Uk trend vision award 2010 winners named
The Roundhouse in London's Camden Town was transformed from a renowned music venue into a glittering celebration of young British hairdressing stars for the Wella Professionals Trend Vision UK Final.
More than 500 hairdressers from across the UK, all dressed to impress, gathered to find out who would be crowned winner in the Color and Young Talent Categories and win the opportunity to travel to Paris to represent the UK at the Trend Vision International Final in November.
The 19 Young Talent and 16 Color Category UK finalists, who had already beaten off competition from hundreds of fellow competitors in the photographic round and regional heats earlier this year, spent the day at the Wella World Studio, where they recreated their final look.
The creations that had been inspired by one of the four trends Nomad Couture, Midnight Stage, Nature's Goddess and Techno Poetry were judged by a prestigious panel of experts, including TONI&GUY's Jo O'Neill, Sassoon's Bruce Masefield and Anya Dellicompagni from the Francesco Group.
At the venue, the finalists and their models walked the runway to rapturous applause from their supporters, top hairdressers and fellow contestants. Then it was over to the host, Radio One DJ Jo Wiley who told the audience, "There is so much talent in this room tonight, and the camaradarie is exceptional."
Guests were treated to a special live performance from singing sensation Paloma Faith as well as three stunning hair shows presented by a combination of some of the hottest names in British hairdressing and some of the industry's up-and-coming talent.
The first show was entitled Deco DeLux from Mark Hayes and Edward Darley at Sassoon Academy, then there was a glimpse of the future with an electric show from the Wella Professionals Generation NOW team, led by mentor Desmond Murray from Atherton Cox and finally came an inspiring presentation from the newly-formed Wella Professionals Colour Club, assisted by Trend Vision 09 Colour Award Winner, Lindsay Grossman from HOB Salons, and styled by Simon Bryer at Michael Van Clarke and Trend Vision 09 Young Talent Winner, Angelo Vallillo at Zullo & Holland.
Then it was time to reveal the results of this year's awards. Lesley Smith from K2S, Glenrothes clinched the Color Category and Daniel Spiller from Marc Antoni, Fleet was crowned winner of the Young Talent category.
