L’Oréal Professionnel has announced that global style icon Twiggy will lend her iconic image to the L’Oréal Professionnel brand, bringing her into salon windows nationwide.
The campaign imagery celebrates Twiggy’s devotion to style and the professional difference of in-salon hairdressing, as well as promoting the launch of Majirel High Lift. L’Oréal Professionnel’s coolest blonde formula was used to create the in-salon Shimmering Blonde service, as seen on Twiggy.
"I am absolutely delighted to become a L’Oréal Professionnel brand ambassador," said Twiggy. "I truly believe in the skill of the professional hairdresser and am so proud to represent the brand.
"My hair has always been important to me and has been a big part of my image throughout the years. I hope to inspire women to be confident in their personal style and never be afraid of trying something new."
To launch the collaboration, L’Oréal Professionnel brought Twiggy and renowned hairdresser Daniel Galvin back together after over 40 years. Their first encounter as professional colourist and spirited teenager was just the beginning of Twiggy becoming the idol for millions of teenage girls during the exciting style revolution of the Sixties.
"It was such a thrill to renew my relationship with Twiggy," said Daniel. "We originally worked together back in the swinging Sixties when Leonard - arguably the most famous hairdresser at that time - and I totally transformed her look into that stunning and remarkable blonde urchin, which led to her launch as the world’s very first supermodel and overnight global success."
