Tulisa Contostavlos has divided fans of The X Factor with her blonde highlights, which somewhat recall Geri Halliwell's hair in the Ginger Spice days.
While the style hasn't been a hit with style commenters, we decided to ask a colour expert for his opinion. Over to Tim Scott-Wright, artistic director at Lisa Shepherd:
"What has our new favourite judge done? While I can see what Tulisa is trying to achieve here, the method I would have undertaken is somewhat different to what has been delivered.
Firstly, Tulisa looks great lighter. However, the divide between the front of her hair and the rest of the mid-lengths and ends is too great. The overall base (old colour) needed to be lifted off to begin with, taking her up around 2-3 shades. Following this an overall neutral lighter brown base should have been applied and the addition of lights then would have decorated the hair beautifully. Tulisa should have aimed for a J-Lo sun-kissed look. A bit of tweaking here and the colour would look absolutely stunning on her."

But just when we thought Tulisa's blonde was a one-off... Last night we spotted Paloma Faith rocking some Ginger Spice highlights of her own.
We asked Tim if there was a new trend on the horizon that we were missing out on.
"Stop the press! Has the resurrection of Ginger Spice really happened? The look Paloma is going for is definitely reminiscent of our former flamboyant Spice Girl and I actually think that she can pull it off quite well. Do I think this will be on trend again? Hmmm... maybe amongst our younger generation. The problem for me is I don't think it's a look that is easily carried off without looking tacky. Hats off to Paloma for having the guts to try something new!"
