Trendwatching: the faux fringe
Encourage your clients to make a change without the commitment with this season's must have accessory, the faux fringe. Having been seen on the likes of Kendall Jenner and Rihanna we caught up with Bad Apple founder and stylist, Aid Tams for his step by step on how he recreated this look for the salons latest collection PLAY. Step one Find the correct spot on your clients head to position a ponytail. As we’re looking to create a visible bun the crown of the head works best rather than lower down towards the nape of the neck. Secure with a clear hair tie Step two Once the ponytail is brushed and smooth use the end of the ponytail to measure how much hair you want to leave out of your top knot by roughly positioning the end of the pony tail onto the forehead, this can be as long or as short of a section as you wish, depending how long you’d like the fringe to be. Step three Wrap the pony around the hair band creating a top knot effect. As you pull the hair round to a central position, using a kirby grip pin, down the pony tail. This secures the top knot and holds the top of the faux fringe in the correct place. Step four Using your fingers gently position the faux fringe, separating into more edgy sections like Kendall Jenner if you wish. Finally finish the look with hairspray.
