With likes of Lottie Tomlinson, Ariana Grande and Miley Cyrus embracing the trend, this is the perfect way to wear long hair as the weather heats up and festival season kicks in. We caught up with Steve Rowbottom, Director and Co-founder of Westrow to get his top tips to recreate this popular style. Step One This style holds better, lasts longer and looks edgier when styled into hair that hasn’t been washed for a couple of days, so avoid washing hair on the morning you wish to create the double bun. If hair has been freshly washed once hair is dry, recreate the texture and hold of two-day old hair with a texturizing product like the L'Oréal Professionnel Wild Stylers Next Day Hair. Step Two Prep the hair with a root-boosting product such as L'Oréal Tecni Art Super Dust and boost volume even further by lightly backcombing the roots, all the way across the crown area. Step Three Use a fine-toothed comb to carefully and neatly centre-part the hair. Section the hair from the front of the head to the back of the crown, in to two sections, one on either side of the parting, and hold in place with clear bands or an Invisibobble. Use fingers to twist the hair around the bobble, fixing the loop in place with kirby grips. Aim to keep both buns high up on the head: the height this style creates is super flattering, as it narrows the face and draws the eye to your cheekbones. Step Four Keep the hair around the parting and on the crown neat, and fix it in place with a strong hairspray. The overall look of the buns should contrast with the neat crown, and should be slightly more disheveled, so if the buns look too neat, tease random fine strands of hair out, before fixing in place with a spritz of a humidity-defying hairspray, such as L'Oréal Professionnel Tecni.Art Fix Anti-Frizz.
