Tim-Hartley-Salon.jpgMarching male models sporting textured quiffs and face-framing hairstyles made for a dramatic entrance at the Tim Hartley Salon Live Show.

"I'm thrilled to be here," Tim told the full-house audience in the Salon Live Theatre.  "I'd like to give you some background to the images I create."

He named architecture and street fashion as two of his main sources of inspiration and urged the audience to watch what is happening on the street to stay fresh and current. But he also emphasised the importance of fashion from days gone by and the strong tailored look of yesteryear.

"This season is all about the three B's - bowls, bobs and berets," he predicted before demonstrating his interpretations of the moods.

Tim-Harley-models.jpgTim created a bob shape, that was shorter round the front with a blunt fringe and backcombing through the crown for a whimsical, chic warrior woman and told the audience: "There is a bob for every season and this is mine for this one" I love the contrast and the textures which is a complete contradiction."

Other looks included a 20s-inspired red-head model with an undercut and simple graduation through the back; and a long flowing ink black creation that had been twisted and untwisted for a fuzzy vibe and finished with a blunt fringe,

Meanwhile Tim's men's hairstyles featured strong lines and he explained that it is current to have something tapered and worked with scissor-over-comb to expand the silhouette and create these looks.

Tim-Hartley-Punkahontas.jpgHaving worked with a colour palette of soft blondes with reds and pinks thrown in to create a subtle 'pop' of colour, it was time to get playful in the cartoon segment of the show, which Tim described at punkahontas: Disney meets punk.

"This look isn't for the faint hearted!" Tim laughed as he worked on an asymmetric shape with dramatic height through the top and coloured in the brightest shade of shocking pink.

The finale saw all the models parade the stage which without doubt reaffirmed Tim's status as one of the great hairdressers of his generation.
