Jamie Stevens, the X Factor's official hairdresser and recipient of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing's Media Personality of the Year shares his favourite look from week nine of the show.
"I was so sad to see Union J go last weekend. They're such a great bunch of lads and it's been great working with them to develop their image with some sharp, slick grooming. I am pleased for our three finalists though, as they've all worked so hard to get where they are.
"As we move towards the final, I can't believe how much James' image has evolved throughout the series. When he first came on screen in his live audition, he didn't fit the normal 'attractive pop star' stereotype. However, as the weeks have gone on, I've worked together with the Style Team to give him a more groomed, tailored look without compromising on his integrity and he's become quite the sex symbol with the ladies!
"He's such a humble guy and likes minimal fuss, so with him we've kept it tidy through the back and sides with enough length on top to allow him versatility to wear it smooth, messed up, quiffed or to the side.
"With James, I've done a very soft, classic scissor over comb technique, mixed with modern cutting techniques, working into point cutting and using a slicing technique from the nape to the top. To style, I simply sprinkled a bit of volumising dust on his hair and rubbed in for an undone James Dean meets Professor Green look.
"I can't quite believe it's the finals already and as we speak I'm packing up my bag for the journey to Manchester where they are taking place, with James Arthur, Jahmene Douglas and Christopher Maloney battling it out for the X Factor crown. There's been so many surprises this competition that I really feel anyone could win! Who's your favourite?"
