Jamie Stevens is the man behind the most talked-about hair on this year's X Factor and he's giving us a weekly exclusive update on his favourite look - find out who he's picked for week five below..."I love working with guys and am known for men's hairdressing as much as women's so it is exciting to work with boy bands such as Union J and District 3, as well as guys like Rylan of course. However, I can't believe we're halfway through the X Factor and that we only have one girl left in the competition!
"With Ella we want to keep her look fresh and young and this plaited look is ideal for maintaining this. After adding a low side parting into the hair, we blow-dried it with a volumising mousse and a medium round brush.
"Taking a section from the parting to behind the ear we did a back to front French plait and followed that around to behind the ear then started joining the back of the hair into the braid, following the head shape. This was secured with an elastic behind the other ear into a side pony.
"Pulling out each weave of the plait to create softness and texture, we curled the ponytail with medium sized tongs and back pushed the curls with fingers to break them up and finished with hairspray to hold. This looks really natural, on trend and suits both her style and age."
