The Hottest Hair Trends Set to Dominate This Summer

Published 29th May 2025 by Chlo Weldon

Now summer is on the horizon, Blue Tit’s top stylist, Don Kurland, shares insight on the defining haircuts, colours and styles set to take over this summer 2025. Take a read...

This summer’s standout styles feature the sharp and structured micro bob, the layered versatility of the midi collarbone shag, and the return of ultra-glossy, precision-styled glass hair (we're here for it!). Natural movement and texture also feature prominently with beachy waves and baby ringlets offering relaxed, expressive alternatives. Colour trends place emphasis on depth and warmth, with tones such as lumi blush, teddy bear brunette and copper sundowner emerging as key seasonal shades.

Micro Bob

The micro bob is about to become the haircut of the summer. It’s short, jaw-defining and seriously cool,” says Don Kurland, Blue Tit Portobello. Looking for a celeb reference for your clients? Florence Pugh is the QUEEN of this trend, often seen with a chin length cut that balances movement and polish. When wanting to create that sleek yet bouncy finish, a round brush blow-dry and a little texture spray is the go-to combo. Plus, you can flick the ends out for a retro feel!

Midi Collarbone Shag

“If your clients are into longer locks, the midi collarbone shag delivers on both volume and cool-girl ease,” says Don. “Think layers that move, bounce and frame the face without giving up any length.” Gigi Hadid has been seen sporting this look, pairing it with undone blowouts or mousse-enhanced natural texture.

Glass Hair

“Glass hair is going nowhere – it’s glossy, sleek and shines like a mirror under the summer sun,” says Don. “Straighten in small sections after smoothing in a serum, then finish with gloss spray to catch the light.”

Speaking of gloss, here's how glossing services can boost your business!

Beachy Waves and Baby Ringlets

“When it comes to texture, it’s all about contrast and character,” Don tells us. “Beachy waves channel that holiday vibe – effortless and low maintenance. Sea salt spray, a little scrunching, and you’ve got the signature beachy look.” Meanwhile, baby ringlets are making a playful comeback. “Tiny curls on baby hairs can completely transform your client's look – it’s a small touch that packs punch,” adds Don.

Summer Colour Spotlight

“This summer, we’re seeing colour become the ultimate mood booster: lumi blush offers soft, peachy-pink balayage that flatters and frames the face. Teddy bear brunette is about golden, sun-kissed depth that’s as easy to maintain as it is on the eyes,” says Don. For those clients who love a statement, sunset peach blends copper, strawberry blonde, and warm peach into a dreamy gradient. And copper sundowner adds richness without over-lightening, making it a favourite for natural red tones.
