The holiday hair advice your clients need no matter where they are going It might feel like it, but summer is far from over and many of your clients probably already have a couple more breaks booked in. But the advice and after care you give them for their trip is very dependent on the type of holiday they are going on. Here we got advice from some industry experts to ask what holiday hair advice they'd give their clients depending on where they are going.

Beach Holiday

This client is... 100% going to be in an out the seas and downing many a pool side concoction Sharon Malcolm, Sharon Malcolm Hairdressing, Newtownards, Northern Ireland says... “I can’t stress enough how important it is to take sun- specific shampoo, conditioner and UV protection spray on a beach holiday to make sure hair and scalp is protected at all times – when you’re in and out of the pool and the sea and during the day on the beach. In fact, a UV protection spray should be used when you’re styling your hair throughout your holiday; mix a small amount with your styling products before styling your hair for the evening, and it will work as a barrier on your hair the next day. Spending time on the beach is the perfect opportunity to leave hair to dry naturally, so use a product like Schwarzkopf Professional Mad About Waves that will give a tousled finish. This summer accessories are a big trend so use a scarf to tie up your ponytail or top knot. The best advice I can give is to wear a hat as such as they can.” https://www.instagram.com/p/B0ikC8lnzvW/

Staycation

This client is... staying in the UK but is on a luxe vibe. They might not be at a spa but hell they'll make the bathroom feel like one. Sam Ashcroft, Brooks & Brooks, London says... “Having a staycation is the best excuse to let your hair and skin breathe. Think minimal effort, pack a mini spa to take away with you and really indulge yourself. Kerastase Chronologiste is perfect for this, the shampoo cleanses all hair types and hair is left fuller with vitality and softness. Fusio-dose Homelabs are a perfect treat if you’re staying at home. When you are on your staycation keep the styles relaxed and stress free; give your hair as break too. Let it dry naturally and embrace your hair’s natural texture, or simply brush it back so you get a great slick look while it dries. If you’re going out to dinner, try a medium-height ponytail for a great silhouette. Embrace your natural texture, let it breath and revive itself after months of heat styling." https://www.instagram.com/p/Bxxp1Yhn-Xz/

City Break for Guys

This client is... itching to explore, forget anything high maintenance they want to roll! Joe Mills, Joe and Co, London says... “The key to any holiday hair is to keep it simple. There are three styles for men this summer perfect for city breaks. And the best bit is you don’t need to pack a huge array of products – Baxter of California Grooming Cream is the lightest of styling products and won’t weigh down the hair, while a sea salt spray such as Kevin.Murphy Hair Resort Spray is the most versatile product you can pack in your suitcase. You can leave it to dry naturally or add some heat to add more texture and volume." https://www.instagram.com/p/B0QnqmthY2C/

Styling Ideas

Short sharp crop: this timeless cut looks great all year round but especially in the summer. It works well on holiday as you can slip a hat on and off and it still looks great. Textured mullet: if you want that statement cut then this is the one for this season. Seen everywhere on the catwalks, textured and soft is the way to go. Natural flow: working with some length, this is all about the natural texture of the hair and working with the natural fall. Works really well on hair with a wave or some natural curl.
