The great, the good and the gatsby

What do you do when you're a mega famous actress about to star in a hotly-anticipated film? Attend a fabulous soireé by a mega famous designer of course! The A-listers were out in force to celebrate the Muicca Prada Dress Gatsby opening party. Wearing Prada and Mui Mui (of course), it was the starlets hair that really caught my attention.
First, Isla Fisher's stunning red hair never ceases to amaze me. I wish I had her hair, it is simply beautiful. While the loose waves aren't keeping in with the fashion of the evening, the shine and structure of the curls is perfect. Maggie Gyllenhaal on the other hand, has fully embraced the 20s crop. I still think she looks better with a bit more length (how amazing would a cheekbone bob be?) but I'm enjoying this cut on her at the moment. Carey Mulligan and Alexa Chung (see below) are two beauts who should have really made more effort. I love Carey's whole ethereal look, but the hair, the make-up and even the dress are so ageing on her.
As for you Alexa, I expected more! Much more! A scruffy top knot might work at Coachella but not at this party. While I applaud her sense of style, Alexa's missed the mark here. With her gamine features and tousled hair, she could have really got dressed up.
Lastly, the lovely Katy Perry, who is looking lush post-split from John Mayer. I love when Katy rocks blue/green/pink hair, it's fun. These gorgeous tumbling waves of pure ebony can do no wrong in my eyes. A grown-up, demure and utterly beautiful look.
