The Fellowship for British Hairdressing has announced Niamh Morris from Jason Liddiard Salon as the recipient of the Sassoon Scholarship for 2019/20.
The Sassoon Academy provides annual scholarships to a member of the Fellowship. It gives the opportunity for the winning stylist to learn from one of the leading groups in hairdressing. This is a chance for stylists with little or no education budget to undergo some of the most acclaimed training available in the industry.
Niamh will enjoy a year of unparalleled education from Sassoon where she can choose up to four separate week-long courses completely tailoring the education to her own career goals.
She will also receive a toolkit from Denman and the brand will also cover £50 of travel expenses for each session, ensuring that even those based outside London have a fair opportunity to enter.
In 2019 more than 20 applicants entered the competition for the scholarship. The panel of judges, named below, interviewed them about their lives, careers and aspirations.
The judges this year were:
- Edward Darley, Sassoon
- Martyn Wady, Denman
- Laura Husband, HJ
- Megan Danskine, Professional Hairdresser Magazine
- Ashleigh Hodges, Fellowship Chancellor
