Coachella Hair Trends: The Festival Looks Clients Will Be Asking For

Updated on 15th Apr 2025 by Sian Jones

Unless you've been off-grid or taking a break from scrolling, you’ll know that Coachella made its grand return last weekend - lighting up the Californian desert (and our feed) with memorable on-stage collabs and next-level hair inspo. From Victoria Monet’s 90s revival to Marina’s dramatic blonde wig, Coachella 2025 is giving clients serious festival hair inspiration (and that’s just weekend one!). Take a look at Team HJ’s stand out looks.

Coachella Hair Trends: Weekend One

I loved Megchella and the Millennial nostalgia Megan Thee Stallion brought to festival on Weekend One - so much so, I can't pick just one standout look.

First up, we had Megan Thee Stallion and Ciara both serving major hair goals with long, voluminous curls. Megan went bold copper and red hues, while Ciara brought the "goodies" in cascading golden blonde curls with rich brunette undertones. Queen Latifah delivered true 90s gravitas with a half-up, half-down style paired with face framing micro braids - a real throwback moment that I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of this festival season. My favourite look? Victoria Monét's gold, sequinned bandana, worn with long, balayage waves. It was a statement look and a glamorous take on the return of iconic 90s bandana we've been seeing a lot more of recently.

Making her debut at this year’s Coachella, Tyla did not disappoint - and neither did her hair! Sporting a curly crop with intricate braid detailing, plus a baby braid, her hair complemented her overall Y2K vibe like a dream. I'm obsessed.

For her 2025 Coachella set, Marina recreated the styling from her latest music video. With a Rococo flair, the singer took to the stage in a platinum blonde wig styled in a tightly curled, half up-do. Created by Gregg Lennon Jr, this look oozed drama and femininity – it was quintessential Marina, and I loved it.

Turning my attention to the hundreds of thousands of festival goers, I loved Annabelle Hooper’s maximalist use of accessories. The hairdresser-turned-content creator kept the styling of her copper hair simple, opting for loose waves, before finishing the look with with feathered extensions and ample hair clips.
