The Superbowl's most stylish half time performances stand out in our memory far more than any scores do - that's right, there's a whole football game that takes place either side of the fun music parts.
Half-time shows at America's annual football championship game didn't really take off in the way that we know them until 1991, when New Kids on the Block took to the stage for a Disney-themed performance - despite the fact that the game has been played since 1967.
Before that, Ella Fitzgerald and Carol Channing had both performed, but shows were usually restricted to marching bands, educational programme Up with People and military band Tops in Blue.
Ever since NKOTB opened the floodgates for big name shows, the annual half-time performance has become an entertainment highlight for the year with just about every A-list musician in existence having played - from Madonna and Bruce Springsteen to Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones.
This year's headline acts are Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers - will they join the ranks of the Superbowl most stylish half time performances?
