Summery scarves brighten up a bun

While winter saw the beanie hat as the hottest hair accessory of the season, summery scarves have made a big impression again this year. Makeup artist and hairdresser, Emily, accessorised her extravagant bun with an understated scarf tied neatly in a bow at the back. By coordinating her scarf with the pink tones in her hair - which she achieved through the use of toner and Crazy Colour dye - Emily created a pretty daytime style. A bolder coloured scarf would be a great way incorporating this summer’s African inspired trend into your hairstyle – and would work as a great festival look. Emily achieved her extra-large bun by backcombing her ponytail before styling it around a donut. She admitted her favourite tool for backcombing is the Denman Dress Out brush.
