The award-winning team at Portsmouth salon group Strands Hairdressing recently held its first Hairy Ball in aid of the Movember charity, raising a phenomenal £2,000.
More than 200 guests flocked to the event, which saw local band May Contain Nuts take to the stage alongside Whiteley salon manager Chloe Rule and friends Kim McGinley and Annie Buggins, who performed three songs to entertain the crowd.
The team also sold specially designed Movember t-shirts and organised a prize raffle traise extra funds for the charity by donating football boots, straighteners and a makeover in the salon for the lucky winners.
Strands Hairdressing founder Pauline Howe commented: “I couldn’t be prouder of my team – raising £2000 for testicular cancer is an incredible achievement and it’s great to be able to give back to a cause that is close to our heart.”
