Staff trouble

I was approached by my only member of staff last week totally unexpected, she took me to one side and told me how I am taking her for granted and don't appreciate her and don't pay her enough. This is while she is in the process of buying a house with her partner. She has only been working for me 18months and as she was finishing off training when she started I paid her a training wage £80 a week, however I soon put her onto min wage as she was starting to work full time on the salon floor. Over the past 5months I have offered her the oppotunity to gain commision on selling retail but it is up to her to log everything she sells and pass to me at the end of every week to check over and pay her (my aim was the responsibility for herself to do this). She has not yet shown any interest in making more money she just expects me to put her basic wage up which I disagree with at the moment when were in a recession and she isnt busy enough with her own clients.  This girl is also a close friend which makes it even harder. I know that I can run the salon without her being here it would just mean me working 6 days a week with no help at all. What would you suggest? Please help...
