Short

"This season it's all about sharp short styles, with classic silhouettes and imaginative lines. Suggest that your clients try something new. Carey Mulligan's pixie crop has been a huge influence in girls going for the chop."

Midi

"Midi lengths are fun and sexy with fuller shapes and loads of texture. At the same time, they will be soft and touchable with a relaxed movement to them.  Alexa Chung's messy bob is a highlight for summer, this easy to wear style give clients versatility."

 Long

"The straight and sleek long locks are gone for another season; this Spring/Summer longer haircuts are full of volume, think gorgeous Gossip Girl Blake Lively, who's tousled locks have overtaken Jennifer Anniston in the 'It haircut' stakes. Dual textures in long hair give room for more experimentation. Mixing soft with rough and shine with distressed, just think contradictions!"

Blondes

"Blondes are clean and pale - think Kate Bosworth. Banish any warmth or gold tones from last winter and try a hint of violet and other cool pastel shades ala Ashley Olsen. This trend will keep your client's colour looking fresh and trés chic all Summer long."

 Reds

"Reds will be muted and deep in both the cool and warm spectrum looking natural with more subtle tones but heavy luster; this means serious shine and gloss. Hot shades are copper, toffee, amber and terracotta."

 Brunettes

"Brunettes are cool and deep, with flashes of signature colour. Think dark cocoa browns with hints of heather and grape, alluring and mysterious as seen on Dita von Teese and the stunning Megan Fox."

Shaun Hall, Mark Leeson Hair, Body & Mind, Mansfield

"Clients are looking to celebrities more and more for inspiration and what the celebs are doing now is paving the way for the upcoming trends more than ever. Loose, messy updos as seen at the Oscars and on fashion pack faves Diane Kruger and Chloe Sevingy are a favourite. Clients will want tips and advice on how to create these at home, and what products to use to get the unfinished look.

"The Olsens are major hair and fashion icons and their undone, messy style is a key trend for summer. Centre partings with long relaxed waves will replace the classic Hollywood glamour we have seen lately while natural texture and lots of volume become the staples of on trend spring summer looks."

"The midi bob is a look that is going to be massive, clients will love this easy to manage haircut that can be worn sleek and smooth or slighty mussed up. Again, teach your clients about which products they can use to recreate this at home."

Mo Nabbach, M&M Hair Academy

"Celebrity- a surprise hair trend setter this summer is Kelly Osborne. Her pink rinse is gorgeously vintage and instantly warms up platinum blondes."

Craig Chapman

"Like we saw during the red carpet season, spring/summer 2010 updos will see a mix volume with old school Hollywood glamour for a classical evening look or vamped up for an edgier feel, either way, lift, height and body is hot this season!"

Paul Falltrick

"This season will see the stars experimenting with bolder colours and soft curls.  Taking inspiration from the catwalk trend of combining tidy edges and soft internal shapes, the celebs that are sporting two textures working together as one will be at the height of Spring/Summer's hot sizzling trends."
