The What: Rebel Yell
At TH1 Hair we’ve had a huge influx of clients rebelling against playing things safe when it comes to their hair. I believe the forthcoming season will be the perfect blank canvas for those looking to stand out from the crowd. Unafraid and unapologetic, rebel cuts will take many forms, in both cut and colour, but I think we’ll see clients looking to add a bit of ‘wow’ factor with low fuss, low maintenance buzz cuts (which were seen across the S/S22 runways at shows including Chanel Couture, with the hair-stylings of Damien Bossinot, and Guido Palau for Alexander McQueen). The How
Case in point? Shaved hair with a pop of added colour interest and daring dye designs. Think a burst of colour placement, as pictured in my Craft collection above or a flash of bold detail, as seen in my Indistinguishable collection. These both set the sartorial tone for the forthcoming season and are perfect ways to help those clients looking for that little bit ‘extra’. https://www.instagram.com/p/CZPOLcoK8F0/The What: Curve Appeal
The Octopus trend has really been gaining legs recently (no pun intended…) and is a trend I see as being a huge hair hit this spring/summer 2022. Named as such because the silhouette rounds with the head shape (similar to an octopus’s body) with the base length resembling the legs, Pinterest declared it the haircut that will be ‘one of the most requested styles at the salon by Gen Z in 2022’ so it’s one to perfect to ensure you’re one step ahead. What I love about this style is that while it bears similar characteristics to the shag haircut (albeit with a little more length), it also boasts a blend of layers (both long and short) and texture within its slightly longer silhouette.
