Use styling irons to create a stunning mane of head-turning Venetian waves, as demonstrated by Kenna and Sophie Heffer for ghd.

Step One

STEP ONE: Starting with wet hair, apply volume foam to large sections and then comb through. Blow-dry hair smooth.

Step Two

STEP TWO: At the back of the head, start by prepping a large section of hair with curl hold spray. Then take a smaller section, and start to twist the hair anti-clockwise while wrapping around fingers clockwise to create the desired wave, making sure to twist the hair away from the face on both sides of the head.

Step Three

STEP THREE: Release the twisted hair into a pin curl then gently apply heat for 6-8 seconds. Keeping control of the section, pin the hair against the scalp to cool and set.

Step Four

STEP FOUR: Continue this technique around the head. At the parting, don't twist curls up to the root, instead create 'purpose root drag' a couple of inches down. At the front of the hairline, the pin curls should go to the root.

Step Five

STEP FIVE: After letting the pin curls set, begin letting them down from the back lower sections, giving each a gentle backcomb at the root and gently twisting them in the opposite direction to release into a beautiful wave.

Step Six

STEP SIX: Don't be afraid to brush the roots and use the hairdryer to break up the set waves - the hair should look touchable. If more shape is desired in the waves, set with a few spritz of hairspray.
