Soft touchable curls - step-by-step

Even frizzy and unruly curls can be tamed to look soft, springy and beautiful, as demonstrated by Kenna and Sophie Heffer for ghd.

Step One

Step One:  Soak hair to eliminate frizz. Comb through then break up the curls by hand, loosely pulling them apart.

Step Two

Step Two: Apply a smoothing serum and heat protection spray.

Step Three

Step Three: Dry the underneath sections to add body and volume. Hold hair in the hand to diffuse, preventing tension to allow natural curls to form. Train the roots forwards and up to avoid a parting.

Step Four

Step Four: Spray hair with hairspray, then wind a small section around one finger. Remove the finger than gently clamp hair with a styler.

Step Five

Step Five: Let the curl cool in your hand then holding the end of the hair, slowly unravel a smooth, shiny curl. Repeat this on different sized sections to create a perfect silhouette.

Step Six

Step Six: Finger-backcomb the hair for a free and natural finish. Blast with spray for hold. Hair by Kenna and Sophie Heffer for ghd Make-up: Zoe Taylor and Alexandra Byrne Styling: Hope Von Joel Photographs: Benjamin Lennox and Ashley Martin More hairdressing how-tos
