Soap stars' style on the celebrity hair-o-meter

Soap stars aren't always famed for their style icon status; in fact to say they can be hit and miss in the hair style stakes is probably a compliment.

But from time to time someone from the Dales, the Square, or Corrie's cobbled streets can really pull a great look out of the bag.

We think these are the best and the worst of the looks on show at the Inside Soap Awards.

	And the winner is...
	Elliot Jordan The Square's new heart throb sure knows how to work an on-trend look. We're loving the classic short back and sides with the noughties 'naughty' twist.
	Louisa Lytton Well hasn't young Louisa come of age with this simple elegant up do? There's just enough height through the front to add interest and pulling the hair away from the face lets her eyes do the talking.
	Gemma Merna There's something a bit Xtina about Gemma's red carpet do; but the sweeping fringe and the loose tendrils, complemented by the perfect shade of not-too-brassy blonde won us over.
	Rita Simons If trashy barmaid was what Rita was hoping to achieve then well done her! Too much body through the top makes it look like two separate haircuts and doesn't it just add on the years?
	Kara Tointon When you are as beautiful as Kara there is no excuse for this monstrosity. The glossy colour is great; but it looks like a wig that has too much hair hidden underneath it and it makes her face look tiny.
	Carly Stenson This is a classic example of the old 'we can see what you were trying to do but it didn't quite work, did it?' The curls piled up at the back of the head look a bit like they've been stuck on at random. Great dress though...
