Sienna Miller showed off her new red locks The Ham Yard Hotel on Tuesday.
Marc Trinder, Art Team Director at Charles Worthington Salons gives his comments on Sienna’s new colour and tips to create this yourself.
'Sienna has embraced the seasonal change and kicked started the autumn/winter trend of going darker. This rich coppery hue is flattering on her skin-tone as it’s the right amount of warmth with a cool underlying gold tone that works well with her skin. Choosing the right red is vital as not all reds suite every skin-tone. From fiery copper to deep mahogany, there's usually a red shade to suit everyone. Our individual colour fan at Charles Worthington works out the perfect shade by reflecting keys tones of colour onto the skin – it enables us to instantly work out the perfect hue.
If you are going from blonde to red, I would always recommend adding pigment to the hair, so a pre-colour is always required. Much like changing a wall colour, you need to change the base colour before the perfect tone can sit well on top- this will also prevent colour fade, ensure richness and make the colour last longer.
L’Oreal Professionnel’s new red shades contain the most advance technology to prevent colour fade and last wash after wash. To achieve Sienna’s red shade I would use L’Oreal Professionnel Majirouge 7.64 or the new 8.43.'
