Harris Reed’s spring/ summer 2023 show unveiled 12 looks which the designer described as being “centred around community, collaboration and all the incredible individuals that it takes to create safe spaces for everyone to feel their most authentic selves”.
The sense of individuality is clearly evident in the hair, with an exaggerated take on laid edges providing each model with their own, unique look.

Hairstylist and wig maker Ali Pirzadeh is credited for the looks, with support from Tommy Stayton. Fudge Professional products were used throughout the show, including Fudge Professional Hair Gum and Fudge Professional HED Shine Spray
Discussing the styles he helped create at the show, Ali said: “The looks we created were inspired by a combination of the artistic drapery of the show's background, as well as the intricate design of the garments. The hair of each model was designed to emulate the intricate structuring of the dramatic looks created by Reed. The models were given a version of the look that was personal to them but with the end aim to achieve an expensive and sophisticated feel to the looks.”

Fashion week often serves as the precursor to many high street trends, and this is usually the case for hair that is featured throughout the shows, too. However, is it possible for avant garde looks such as these to find their way to the salon?
